B&W images with a splash of colour....

I have seen many a black and white photo but with the subject still in coulor......how do you do this!?!?

Like most things theres always more than one way.. I prefer

Photoshop..

2 copies of same image..

make one B/W and place over top of colour (will become layers) then using the eraser you erase the B/W bit you want and you will see the colour pic underneath

If the area you want coloured is well defined, a quicker way can be to use the Magic Wand Tool in PS or Elements. I don't usually like it myself but if it's subtle it can work. This is one of the very few times I've used it:
