Lying on the settee this afternoon, I looked out of the window to see a Waxwing land on a tree in my front garden. Scrambled to get the 100 - 400L hooked up, only to see the sodding thing fly off and join several others on a tree about 100yds away.

The lens is now primed and ready to go should they return tomorrow. First of these I've seen here for about 6 years. Anyone else got them just now. They are beautiful birds.

Quite rare this winter, i was expecting an invasion of them but not much materialised yet.

I never see them here but they are gorgeous. Lucky you.

I'd love to see any birds in my garden but the two cats make sure none are brave enough!

i have fat balls, a bird house and a feeder full of nuts in my garden, had it set up for months now and have yet to see a visitor to my garden : /

Funny thing Wez, I have plenty stuff out my back and usually get sparras, various tits, doves, blackies, starlings and sometimes siskins but for the last couple of months nothing at all has been coming down to the feeders.

There are cats but they have always been around and the feeders are well out of reach. Very strange.

i have 2 german shepherd dogs that have a free run outside but the garden itself is blocked off from the dogs. Maybe that puts the birdies off, shame really as i have a nice view from my upstairs window.
