Awful end to the afternoon

She's making it her life's work to make me chuckle.

Thanks everyone for posting up some great photos and Ruth, great to read you have an addition (even if temporary) to the family.
Murphy gave a bit back today to Wood Green animal centre today (the place him and us first met), Marian took his bed and bedding there to help keep the dogs warm and comfy in their kennels.

Thanks Martyn.....She really is making me smile.

Post the photo you just showed me Ruth.

I met the cutest Alsation puppy today - it was a big ball of fluff all feet and ears with its head well out of proportion to its body  - It clearly thought it was a wolf even though my collie rolled it over 3 times in quick succession. You could see it thinking " try that when i'm older"

Pete that sounds like my kind of pooch.

This is the girl we have in our house right now. I rally need to sleep, but not being allowed to right now....

ahh a stafbrador- my boss has got one of those ( actually his is alledgedly a pedigree lab, but you can tell at first glance that it isnt)

Oh Pete, she's by no means a ped of any kind. But she is lovely, and she's missing her 'dad', and preventing me from getting the sleep I REALLY need before leaving in the early hours. I'm thinking of giving her Gin to calm her.....KIDDING!!!!!

Mybe I should just give up on the idea of sleep at all.

baileys in a bowl of milk

I'm trying not to fall for this little girl.

either or both - you could probably have your baileys neat though

Forget the creamy bit of Bailey's....I could probably go for the purely "whisky" part.

I need to be tougher. To say "OK, this is just a pup for a couple of nights".

Hope you managed enough sleep last night Ruth and enjoy the woofer!

Really, really sorry to hear this the only good is that she didnt suffer - its horrible and you feel so helpless.

Thanks Mark.

Nod, not much sleep was had, but today's journey wasn't nearly the distance I had imagined, and I'll make up for it tonight if I'm allowed!

They really do eat miles nicely don't they? :D

How much did you pay him?

you can - you can rely on him being twice a feelthy as me, but pretending to be soooo innocent

I am a little grubby TBH - I was just about to run a bath when I remembered I needed to see a half decent weather forecast so switched the 'puter back on!

I'm afraid that's something you will have to continue to dream of, my friend :D

Well we now know that Blu (SOrry....couldn't keep calling her after a big ugly fish :gag: ) will be with us for at least a couple more weeks :) Our neighbour has undergone coronary valve replacement, and is doing well....they're talking about discharging him on Thursday! However when he comes out he'll be going to stay with his son. They have cats and, well, Blu dun do the kitties. So we will keep her until he actually comes home, and after that we'll be seeing to her exercise for a while, even when she moves back in with her dad :)

She's been a massive help :D

Surely a Beluga is a whale rather than a fish? Or a can of smelly eggs! Mind you, the XF Shooting Brake looks spectacular in Caviar... Might have to enquire as to whether the buyer for it is a yearly updater or a 3 year itcher!!!

Your foster pooch reminds me of my uncle's lab as a pup. My wife volunteered us to look after her when she was quite fresh then ended up teaching an extra class on that evening... Miss T. spent the first 90 minutes tearing from one end of the sitting room through the dining room, out through the back door to the end of the garden (not far but there's a patio en route!) and back at full chat! Exhausted me just watching her. Zero chance of a photo - it was evening and she's a black lab. Eventually the batteries ran out and she just flopped down and slept until Daddy came back, when I was informed that she was always very good and was happy sleeping in her cage! And she was - just put her in (bribery's easiest!) and she would settle down to sleep with the door open.

She's a few years older now but still sees me as a play friend and regresses a bit. Her pal (a Sprocker I think) is quite frisky too but can behave even with me around.

Enjoy Blu - she looks adorable and I'm guessing she may be getting a little spoiled? Hope your neighbour continues to recover well but not too fast!

Nod we're only really spoiling her in terms of attention and time I think. I don't deviate as far as her food and treats go, and though it breaks my heart, she spends the night in her large cage with a blanket and some toys. She never argues about going in there, but I'm not used to a dog not having the run of the place. But we're constantly reminding ourselves that she not ours, and we have keep up her routines. So we do! She took a couple of days only to settle down, and although strictly speaking not a pup, you'd never know it. She will play and play and play and them BAM...out like a light :D

Oh and you're right of course....Belugas are those odd looking white whales aren't they. I had just assumed, because of the caviar, that theyre must also be a fish, as whales give birth to live young. I'll have to give it a Google!

*Edit*.....Had to hand back the Jag today :dummy:

the caviar comes from the Beluga Sturgeon
