Not too sure if I'm allowed to post this here?,.... but I'm sure I'll soon find out!
I've just put together my first ever website and although this post is nothing to do with shameless self promotion! I would like some feedback, good, bad or indifferent.....I've been slaving away at it all day:bang:....so any comments would be appreciated. Link is in the signature bit below.

The opening page grabbed my attention and I wanted to see more :D

That is a well layed out, easy to navigate and fantastic images. That was well worth slaving away for.

Not bad!! I'd suggest all the thumbs were made into the same shape/ration though, but otherwise....looks good!

im so glad that you have an excellent layout :) easy to navigate, i agree! not many people have that, so well done!

which program did you create the website with?

Thanks for the comments, never realised about the validate to standards, please advise on what this actually means.
I don't know whether it's called cheating but I've just used the Clikpic web hosting company and they have templates etc which you can alter, and if I did have experience in web design I'd probably be able to do a lot more with it, also for me the thing that lets it down is the fact that your limited to the size of the images to a maximum of 600px on the longest edge, not sure if there's a workaround here.

I'll keep plugging away at it!

Tim, validation is explained here http://validator.w3.org/docs/why.html. It's a complicated subject and all part of the process of quality web design.

A non validating site can appear to work properly in most browsers, but probably not all as it is depending on the browsers themselves to correct problems with the code in order to display the site correctly. If the design is validated then it will work properly in all browsers anyway (except, sometimes, IE as Msoft are a law unto themselves).:cuckoo:

YOUR site still looks good though
