AVForum what is this site about.....it seems to be run by dictators and I thought Adolf was dead but it must be run by Saddam but also is dead Idi Amin ...maybe

anyway why can you not advertise an item there but not anywhere else are they going for a monopoly on advertising.
I have noticed a few adverts here that appear on said dictatored forum with no suspensions issued but that may be down to the fact one member here is a long standing mod in there :shrug: anyway rant over and all my trading will be done from here only in future as the mods here are definately not little hitlers:thumbs:
 
to be truthful it can be a bit overpowering at times , having said that , rules are rules , and if you dont like it then ........... , if you want to see fascism in its purest form then try digitalspy :eek: :lol:
 
yes paul but overpowering isnt the word but never mind I have TP and dont really want to advertise much so it doesnt really bother me its their loss in the end as more members will just up n leave and come here
 
I once advertised a lens there (had been a long standing member of said forum) and because i said in the post "no offers as i dont want all the counter offer re-offer stuff" I was suspended ! WTF. So i emailed the admin and told them to shove it where the sun dont shine, not been back since... it used to be a good forum once upon a time.. far far away and all that stuff.
 
without defending any forum , and i mean that , as i suspect it is a pretty much an unpaid job unless you are right at the very top , it must be a thankless task , plus , the way things are at the moment , a lot of people seem to be wanting the law to be on their side if there is the slightest chance of getting their own way in some form or another , so i can see why some forums lock themselves down tighter than a ducks arse :eek:
 
I see your point Paul but to stop a sale because its advertised elsewhere is a bit off ...bit like saying dont use esso petrol or your warranty is void

i must admit , i dont understand that rule , seems pointless , or are they trying to be the next crapbay with there own rules :eek: :lol:
 
dictators still rule lol or not:lol:

the forum will go downhill and once the trend is set they will never get the kudos back as all members will just pass them by for better forums like this one yes there are rules but if you do break one you get a gentle pointer
 
TBH I can understand why they have that rule. Not saying it's the right answer to the problem of course, but I see why.

I suppose it's because people offer stuff up for sale on multiple sites, then when its sold on one, they b****r off and don't bother to update / reply to anyone else.

now thats a fair point but I always close threads no matter where but to stop a sale is a bit pointless....anyway my thread here on TP has been pm to me word for word ....bit strange :suspect:
 
There's another silly rule that i fell foul of. I made an offer for an item late one night, and the seller made a counter offer first thing in the morning (between 9 and 10am). Being a week day I was at work (back in the days when I had employment!!), and, unusually for me, very busy and did not manage to get on to the internet until late afternoon (between 3-4pm). During which time, someone else had said that they would take the item at the new offer price, without the usual 'if sypix doesn't want it'. Apparently, i had to respond within 2 hours of the sellers post, or I am deemed to have passed up on the offer :cuckoo: Fortunately, the seller was sensible about it, and said he wanted to wait for my reply. I agreed to the new price, but the other 'buyer' protested, and was then backed up by a mod. The seller still wanted to sell to me though, as he made the offer to me. We concluded our deal, and the seller had a temp suspension form the trading forums for his troubles. That has been the one and only time I have used their trading forums ...

looking at the forum stats only 10% actually use it the rest have been peed off and moved on yet the forum wont get rid as they need the numbers

I asked for my account to be closed and they refused saying they dont close accounts.

IMHO you're the one at fault for not abiding by, what are clearly, very obvious trading rules. Just because it's different to this forum does not make it bad or wrong.

Your thread in the General Chat area of AVF is just plain immature. Surely there's more reasonable ways of behaving?

No, it isn't. I'm a great believer in treating others how you want to be treated yourself. To go spouting off rubbish and being rude isn't particularly personable, is it?

I asked nicely first and got nothing back so I asked again and again ....no reply so I waited and waited they wouldnt even answer a simple request so to get their attention meant this .....so who is childish
 
Well, I can't see the fuss tbh....you made a total of 10 posts since joining in April; hardly joining in with the forum 'community' really.

What would you say to someone on here who had 10 posts then kicked off at all and sundry?
 
all i asked for was for them to delete my account which they wont do for some reason i asked time and again but they didnt have the courtesy to reply so who is the bad guy here .....must be me for taking extreme measures to rid myself of this scabby forum

If someone came here then asked to be deleted for reasons the mods would do it there and then also if someone came here and started a fuss in any forum it would also be gone faster than we could read it ......big difference from av dont you think
