Hi, if i install the software mentioned above, do i need toinstall anything else for protection, i have had Norton on, and its about to expire, so i am thinking about the free version of Avast, but a little unsure, so what do you guys think
I use exactly the same combination and (fingers crossed) never had a problem even when it's picked up a potential issue.Avast + Comodo firewall (free edition) covers live security requirements and then follow that up with scans using Malwarebytes from time to time.

Thanks to everyone for helping me out.
Avast Free has a good reputation, but Windows Defender (also free if you are on Windows)is regarded 'in the trade' as being as good as any of the anti-virus applications.
Just turn it off.I have now got rid of Norton, i have installed the zone alarm firewall, and the free avast antivirus, can i uninstall windows defender or is this a bad idea? when i start up my computer something sounds like it is still scanning.
