Hello All

This might seem as really basic question to most but if I have plenty of light and am shoot a still scene/subject, which should you adjust, Av or Tv? Will one give you more saturation and the other better DOF or will either do?

You really need to understand the relationship between depth of field and aperture.

To answer your question very briefly Av. You don't need to control the shutter speed so much with an object that's not moving so long as the camera is not moving either.

I'd suggest some bedtime reading on Aperture/Depth of field :)

Thanks for your quick reply! I have already been branded a "Geek" by my family so bedtime reading of camera techniques is not going to help my cause any, I will have to sneek some relevant reading matter in to the gentlemans reading room rather than a mini crossword book! Thanks for the info, I think I may feel a read coming on in the very near future.

both are to some degree inveresely related, it really depends on what you are trying to achieve, but UE is a good start
