I'm going to autosport international this year on 16th Jan,
As im new to photography and don't know a whole lot of things wonder if you could give me some tips as a pose to shooting cars etc.
Settings etc.

Any tips on the whole would be appreciated :D:)

The lighting at the NEC is those horrible sodium lights and then most of the stalls use daylight balanced lights which makes for some interesting colour casts.

If you can use something to get a custom white balance under the lights such as a grey card or the interior of Lowepro bags as I hear those are pretty close to 18% grey.

i went in 2008 and i agree with both statements above..

the lighting in some areas of the NEC are HORRID. my advise would be to shoot RAW and then you can at least sort it out later.

people are a bit of a problem, especially when gathered around a celeb giving an interview.

no ones mentioned the girls yet, theyre always willing to pose :D

Cheers for the advice fellas :D

Can i ask what RAW shooting is lol.

Lights are a pain in the ass, so be careful of your white balance setting
take a flash if possible, its quite dark, or maybe a mini tripod
Wonder round on your own or with other togs, patience is essential as people walking in front of your shot is annoying
Do a search about RAW, there is some good threads on here about it that would explain a lot better than I would

Sorry if I seem to be hijacking but what sort of focal length should I take?

Thanks

your kit lens should be fine, as you find yourself close to the cars because of the amount of people
