Automatic border application?

Hey guys and girls,

Just wondering... is there a way to automate borders onto a batch of photos rather than sitting there and doing each one, 1-by-1 ? Ive had a look around on googly but can't find anything. Maybe theres a way to automate them in photoshop?

OR you just start to record an action while you make the first one. Then for each other one you just press play and hey presto!! :thumbs:
 
I think he wants to do them batch style, not open each one.

I don't know of any off-hand, but would be cautious about that kind of app.

The problem with batch style processes is that a program can't see the picture, can't guage if the border on that particular picture is too wide etc
 
The plugin I use does batch but only works with Aperture and is very good.

Does a very nice basic border that I like....

I think there is something called a droplet, havent used it before but a graphics guy i know said that its like the actions function but you can set it to work on a folder maybe this can help!
 
Make an action, but set it to increase the canvas size by a percentage (not a set amount) then it will increase the border depending on image size. Now make a droplet from that action, a droplet is a sort of batching tool using an action. You just drag your folder onto the droplet (an icon on desktop or where ever) and photoshop opens runs the action on every print in the folder saves them out to where you selected and job done.

Swanseamale - I tried a similar thing except I didnt increase it by percentage but by a certain amount, so I will try your suggestion and a couple others on here. Cheers guys and girls.
