Autofocus not working – anything obvious to check?

The autofocus has stopped working on my Canon 5D with both 24-70 and 70-200 USM f2.8 lenses. Before I contemplate sending off for a no doubt expensive repair is there anything I should check or anything I can do to try to fix it? As it’s not working on either lens is fault likely to be on camera? Any help much appreciated.

On my Nikon there are switches on the body for MF?

Sounds silly Nick, but have you check that AF switch on the lens is not on manual?

Also check that you have not got back button focus switched on in custom functions?

Hey smooth, you are a genius - I'd forgotten I had the back button focus on! This forum rocks - a solution in just a couple of minutes!
