Auto Focus Stacking Mode.

Can't be far off I'm sure.

How long before a 'Auto Focus Stacking Mode' is incorporated into some cameras?

We are part way there with 'Interval Timer' just a matter of adjusting the focus a little at ever shot.

Seems so simple (or is it), I wonder someone has not already done it.:shrug:

It would be OK for stationery subjects, but I doubt that a bee is going to hang about while the camera adjusts for a focus stack

A company has already made an electronic focus rail and shutter release that automatically moves the camera and activates the shutter at set intervals.

Looks like a real nifty bit of kit. Of course, it's only effective on stationary subjects, but that's a limit of focus stacking in general.

http://www.controlmynikon.com/ will do your focus stacking automatically, and a LOT cheaper than the suggested moving rail

Excellent program and will be even better next week when the D7000 version is released!!
