Hi Guys

In my quest for M42 threaded camera lenses i have come across the AUTO CHINON 1:2.8 f=28mm lens.
Looks in reasonable condition.
Does not have front or rear lens caps.
(maybe some guys on here may have some spare)

I can pick this lens up for £12.

What do you guys think of this lens and this price?

thanks

Graham

For £12 you can't go wrong!! Old manual focus prime lenses are superb, even many of the cheap ones. The 55mm f2 Helios is a good one to get.

I have literally just bought a 35mm f2.4 Carl Zeiss Flektogon M42 lens but mine was £150!! I was going to save up for a Carl Zeiss 35mm f2 Eos Fit Distagon T* but they are £805. There's not much difference at all in the image quality so seeing as they are both manual focus I thought I would save a few quid and get the flek.

All I need now is an 85mm and I'm sorted for lenses!

Hi Graham, a lot of the guys on the "Manual Focus Forum" seem to rate the Chinon lens, and for that price you cannot go wrong.

I have this very same lens...paid a bit more than £12 for it as well. I have to say it is crap. Makes a good paper weight but little else. Having said that I'll put it on ebay and will get my money back ;-)
