Hi my name is nicky, i am 44 and i always had a love for photography, but i have not picked up my actual camera in a couple of years. Its hard, the older i get the more isolated i am becoming, i dont really have any friends and would have always loved to have a photography buddy but its never come about, i went from photographing people to completely leaving that behind and stilling to animals as its less stressful with anixery and autism, but now i dont do anything, i have lost the love for everything outside of the house.

i go to work i get metal drained i come home and there isn't any energy left for anything else at all and its so sad. i am sat in my garden today as no work and sitting here watching the birds and thinking when was the last time i made the effort to get my camera out and when i come to realise that it had been well over a year or more :-(.

i would love to rekindle my love for photography and would love to meet some like minded people are there anyone here that would like to be my friend? even just to message one and other help with tips and understand one and others stresses in live , i hope this finds at lest one people who understands and would like to connect.

thank you for taking the time to read i am dyslexic also so please forgive any eorrors

Hi thank you for that helpful reply i have been in my garden today and have seem many birds its been great to get back at it

Hi Nicky, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy"

Hi Nicky.

TP is a friendly place so I hope you can enjoy and participate in the discussion, gain inspiration, and hopefully begin to become less isolated and start enjoying your photography again. I understand the difficulties that autism can have on participating in things, but I hope you can feel safe and included here. It's quite likely that there will be other members who have ASD / neurodiverse conditions.

Welcome :)

Thank you all its good to me here i will add a photo i told the other day :-)

As others have said, have a look at some of the other forums on here, its a friendly place so feel free to join in some of the conversations. You might find friends once people get to know you.

Hi Nicky, and Welcome from Wales. Theres a section here called find a tog buddy, it's down in the meeting place forum (near the bottom) You dont say what area you live in, but theres a lot of people on TP so theres a good chance someone will be near you.
Have you considered camera clubs? Some can be very nice and friendly... others not so. Then theres evening classes for photography where you will meet people with the same hobby.
Photowalks are another way to meet other photographers, we organised them at one time, and they are great fun, we organised quite a few some years back, everybody had a great time.
You mention birds, is that one of your subjects? Maybe the local wildlife or bird watchers area, there will be sure to be other photographers there.
I suppose a lot depends on how well you can cope with strangers, I'm one of the lucky ones who isn't uncomfortable with people I've never met, but I know some find it very difficult.
Maybe let us know what area you live in?
Regards Wayne
