Looking for options for Queensland,Cairns next year. Was going to use Kuoni but seems they are going down the pan.Have tried Thompson and Thomas Cook sites and can't get past entering a destination on either site.
Has anyone used can suggest anyone else for a package ?,looking for all inclusive for 21 days.

The last time I went to Oz we used Travelbag for the flights and internal excursions.
Quick explanation, we flew into Perth, stayed with friends for 3 weeks during which time we flew to Cairns for a 4/5 day stay, went on Barrier Reef and into the rain forest via the Kuranda railway returning to Cairns on the Skyrail above the rain forest.

This was quite a while ago now though.

We did these in 2013 when we were there. We booked the Barrier Reef trip with Great Adventures (went via Green Island and would absolutely recommend them).

We did the Kuranda trip too - but the opposite way round - went up on the Skyrail and back down on the railway. Again, an excellent trip... We did, however, find out the hard way why it's called a "rain" forest - because it did!!!! Cleared up though.

Cairns is a fun place and easy to get around. Internal flights are plentiful and relatively cheap (or were in 2013).

Rob did you book the trips before going over or while you were there ?.

We booked them in advance. We knew what we wanted to fit in too the limited time we had in QLD. Also, it gave us the opportunity to get family & friends to give us money towards the costs in advance in lieu of birthday/Christmas prezzies.

We had a couple of days lounging by the pool on the esplanade, and there's plenty of places to eat all around that area of Cairns. We never had desserts in any of the restaurants - instead wandered to the Movenpick restaurant for some amazing ice creams.

And the night-market is worth a wander around too. :)

Trailfinders can put this together too. We used quicksilver for the reef. raging thunder for white water rafting and hot air ballooning.

Many thanks Rob for taking the time to post that up.
Also thanks Chipper for the useful info

Sorted holiday any recommendations for the travel insurance companies.

I normally use AA insurance but I've never had to claim so I can't really rate them except to say they're reasonably priced

I know someone who was badly hurt in a car accident in the US about 6 years ago. He was insured with Tesco - they were excellent (and we're talking a LOT of money)....
