Can anyone recommend a supplier that can supply an ATX PSU (450W)?

how much are you looking to spend?
 
if you are sure 430watts would be enough, i'd got for the Corsair CX 430W ATX Power Supply

can get the 500watt for about £50
 
Exactly, 1000w PSU's are a waste of money. A very good 430w will perform really well. Just go for a good brand one. Corair are a good brand.

I have had a 425 w fitted for last 5 years so i guess the VA rating is adequate as it has run quite happily for so long.

will look at corsair after i find a supplier (what suppliers?)
 
to be fair it all depends on what you are running - mine is a 700watt PSU and that is fine, any less than 600watt and i'd struggle .
 
My pc can draw upto 560watts of power, but that's only if I've lots of things running.

Cheers to all concerned, just fitted me a novatech 400w psu, wow its soooooo much quieter than the old winpower one fitted to my unit.

£30 notes !!! :clap::thumbs:

quite impressed by the Novatech store, anyone else use their kit?

Yikes!!! Bog standard PSU!! Hope it is a good runner for you mate. Was it very light or heavy?
 
Light ones are usually naff. Cheap components etc. Upgrade to a good 'brand' one soon!

No doubt.... I cant believe the difference in performace the new psu has made, not just quieter but much faster performance!!

I have nearly doubled data download speed!
everything is snappier!
no shaky monitor performance
wifi performance is much better

really chuffed for the return on £30 notes:thumbs:

My mate brought a cheap non branded one, but he claimed it was awesome as it was heavy.

Imagine his surprise when said psu broke - we opened it up and found what can only be described as a mini breeze bloke inside :)
 
I run my PCs 24/7 and I've had 2 x 450W power supplies die on me within 3 years. I now run well over spec at 650W and use Corsair TX 650s (sdingle 12V rail so will supply anything you need). I nearly, nearly bought a seasonic x-650 as a silent power supply this week. At £125 it was a too pricey, but the lure of 11dBA for < 300W was nearly too much...
 
I'm after a 450w PSU for a PC and wondered if the above advice still stands?
Looking at ebuyer, a corsair 430w would cost about £44 inc delivery, but I'm considering just getting a £30 maplin jobbie as the computer is only used for online TV and DVDs.

Seasonic and Flextronics make PSUs for lots of people - I tend to buy their higher grade stuff, but you can often find little gems a lot cheaper by trawling that database (I was impressed with the CX430M I used recently in a build).

BTW: truly silent PSUs cost a lot of money (if you are looking at online TV/DVD playing, it might be for a media centre where noise is an issue). The two PCs in my lounge run totally passive PSUs - they were expensive :eek:
