Attempted Military Coup in Turkey

Saw some tweets, military aircraft aircraft flying about and things being blocked

Another coup apparently. They seem to have one every so often. Last one was 1997.

Is there anywhere to holiday safely? Bloomin missus loves travelling, looks like Blackpool then. :)

Well that is another 75 years until they join the EU ;) Whatever is going on, I hope it won't cause human casualties :(

I know these things don't deter some people but I think I'd end up holidaying in my garden :D

Worth remembering, should the Turkey holiday fall through. ;)

Indeed, you can thank me after your ride and fabulous experience in the Kiss me quick booth too! well happy sir will you be. Great deals to be had on rock too and candy floss, watch out though its addictive all that sugar!

Come to Scotland! Weathers pish though :)
Last time I went up there, it took me over a day to get back home to the North West. Although this was way back in the 80s. Missus loves it up there, she always gets her way. So you never know, we may end up there yet. :)

Bodrum and Izmir airports closed ,who the hell wrote the script for 2016 ,

Here we go down to a sunless sea

I'm glad to learn that my good friend got out yesterday. Another, who resides there, tells me all military leave has been revoked. Several of his neighbours had to go back to work tonight. Understandably. But even there they don't really know what the f*** is going on. Their words not mine :)

If they can pull this off without violence then it could be a good thing, Erdogan has been taking a more authoritarian tone in recent years, a more moderate elected government could be good for Europe and the Middle East, potentially brings them closer to the EU too... long way to go though, reports of an explosion in Istanbul now.

World's going mad

As someone, who grew up in Northern Ireland during the 70's, it looks like we're going to be one of the safest places on the planet :)

Or maybe the opposite... Maybe authoritarian is a good thing?

Worrying times (not least because a close friend's wife lives in Ankara) but could be for the best in the long term. Erdogan seemed to be heading down a dangerous road and a more secular government might be better for Turkey and the region as a whole.

Go night Turkey, I hope it doesn't escalate during the night...

BBC news now reporting the coup has failed, when will Corbyn do the right thing and resign?
