AthlonII Mobile Upgrades

So the laptop started overheating, the air guides at the end of the heatpipe were choked up and the thermal grease has gone off. Whilst I'm in there cleaning up I'd like to upgrade a bit if possible, but It's been years since I changed a CPU and never in a laptop so I have no idea what will work - It's got this in at present http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Athlon II Dual-Core Mobile M300 - AMM300DBO22GQ.html

Any suggestions on where to go?

You need info on the mobo to find out its limits. You have the best processor for the motherboard.

Fitted Turion II Ultra, works just fine and is stating cool most importantly!
