Yes
Saw a friend the other day and couldn't believe her 3 year old daughter was drinking coca cola - proper coke, mind - not some pretend happy shopper type. out of her sippy cup.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't dream of letting mine have coke at this age.

When did yours have coca cola?

I still don't but I know she has it from Grandma.

If I can help it I won't be letting my kids have Coke at any age :D

I never drunk Coca-Cola as a child, due to not liking it or other cola drinks. I can remember drinking lemonade before I started proper school though, another fizzy sugary drink.

If I had children they would drink tea and be trained in how to brew a good cuppa from as soon as they could hold a teaspoon!

Mine are 2 and 4 - I don't let them have it but the occasionally have a sip if I'm have some - it's rare because I deliberately don't buy it.

Occasionally my 6 year old has a drop of Lemonade as a treat at a family dinner, otherwise it's juice, water or squash. Our older kids didn't have it until they were at least 12 as I recall, even then it was high days and holidays...

As neither my Wife or I rarely drink Coke we don't have it in the house.

My kids are 3 and 5 and they only drink water,

They've never asked for anything else, and until they do, I won't be offering alternatives

As above, if they never have coke that's fine by me.

I don't like my 3 year old drinking coke, he would go hyper if he did!

He probably gets away with it if he is with his gran though!

My 6 year old drinks lemonade in moderation, sometimes coke but mostly water and juice

When we were kids....we didn't have coke, couldn't afford it. The cola was 'Strike' made by Barr if IIRC.

Then there was the local 'Alpine' fizzy drinks fellers that used to drive around the estates on a Saturday. Mum used to by the lemonade, raspberry, dandelion & burdock and that green shi pop (American Soda) that nobody liked. The bottles always seemed huge when we were kids. Money back too if they still had their tops on them.

Remember Barr and Alpine!! Thought we were royalty once we got a Soda Stream.

My wife saw a mum letting her 2 year old drink from her full fat can of Redbull!

Was it "Corona" that did the fizzy pop in glass bottles //my mates and i used to go round searching for them as kids to get the money back ...kept us occupied for hours on end ...a lttle sad i know but for us it was fun!

As for drinking the stuff, I only ever got cordial ( usually orange) as a form of pop even from grandma although hers was usually Robinsons Barley water!, partly because income couldn't afford the fizzy stuff and partly cause mum wouldn't fill us with c**p.

I do remember drinking occasionally tizer at my mates when i visited.

During my early teens Iron Brew and Dr pepper were in but I was restricted to one can of each per week even though by this time we could have afforded more.

Like anything, if it's done in moderation then there is not usually a problem but have to confess to introduce cola and such like to little tots is imo a little iresponsible....not something i would pesonally do with a 3 year old.

Errr is that not bordering on some sort of child abuse??!!!!!

Is it not a serious caffeine kick ( i don't drink the stuff!)

I'm afraid I would not have been able to see that happen without saying something!

My 12 year old has the odd glass of coke. If she goes to the shop on her own then she rarely chooses to buy coke.

My 3 year old still drinks milk as a choice over most other drinks - otherwise it's juice.

My 1 year old is milk, water or mum.

Our 5 (nearly 6) year old has a small glass of Diet Coke every now and again or Sprite, more often than not she'll ask for water though.

We have taken a pretty liberal approach to things like that though, she can have a sip of beer or wine when we have some if she asks. Our theory is if you make something taboo they go mad on it when they get a chance. I'm not sure Coke is any worse than fruit juice or haribo to be honest.

I didnt drink coke til I was about 13!!

Was orange juice/squash, milk or water.
Although as above, I was allowed a sip or beer or wine if my parents had some on very rare occasions

Never had Mcdonalds til I was 17 or so either.
My parents were very strict/poor.

Ditto! though it didn't do us any harm did it?!!

Have to confess I did once after a lot of pestering got taken to a Wimpy as a birthday treat when I was 8 years old .....tbh i actually found it to be quite a let down..

Diet Coke is worse....more crud in that than the other.

We only every buy diet because we don't like the taste of full fat, no other reason. A glass every few weeks isn't going to kill her.

Correct. At home its juice but at the pub or meal can be apple juice or coke or lemonade... a bit every now again does no harm.

A bit ot, but my gran used to own a cafe back in the early 70s and there were two young boys came in with a full crate of bottles, so she paid them the deposits and away they went.

An hour or so later they were back with another load and it wasn't until gran took those out back that she realised that what the little darlings had done was jumped the back wall, and sold her her own bottles back

I remember Corona! Never had it though. I was obsessed with fizzy pop when younger as it wasn't something that was generally allowed. Fanta was my poison of choice or dandelion and burdock.

Anyone remember the green coloured squash that was around? Used to call it dragon's blood...think it was a Kia-ora or similar company that made it.

Corona bottles, Um-Bongo (...Um-Bongo, dey drink it in de Congo) and the life-changing Soda-Stream (even though it tasted a bit odd).

Happy days. :D

My 3 year old has coca cola occasionally. Maybe a glass or 2 a week. Generally he has water or apple juice.

Growing up (I'm not sure what age from) I lived on coca cola, soda stream and KFC. I haven't got any fillings and I'm not obese. I don't think it did me any good but I'm pretty sure it didn't do me any harm.

WHEN i was a kid, a special treat would be a glass od cream soda (Corona)with a lump of ice cream in it. My kids don't touch cola atm (10 and 15), although the youngest like a fanta probably four times a year. Worst thing they drink is Slush on the odd occaission we go bowling. They mostly prefer water though, which is fine by me. They have both tried Pepsi and Coke, liked it, but not overly excited about it.

Was alpine pop by us as well

Waters and Robson was another one. The green stuff nobody liked was limeade.

you joke about that but my wife once saw a toddler no more than 18 months drinking tea in his bottle  let's give the parent the benefit of the doubt and assume it waseither herbal tea or decaffinated

12 years old I think is a reasonable age. I think 8 onwards is pretty acceptable.

Now't wrong with giving kids caffeine so long as it is moderated.

What's all this talk of corona? I'm guessing you don't mean the crappy mexican beer (if you can call it beer)

Corona were a 'pop' distributor like 'Alpine' they made their own brand stuff too.
