Assignment Help Please!

Hey, Just had a new assignment at college.

We've got a list of Objectives to choose from on the theme of landscapes. I've chosen Transport & The Landscape.

I have to produce 6 images that concentrate on methods of transport in the landscape.

Any Ideas of what I could do? Any idea's a good idea atm!!

My initial thoughts are railways.

A shot of a steam train running through the countryside would look nice.

You would get some great shots in a scrapyard.

Probably too late in the year now but my first thought was shoot insects and the wind, looking at the transport of pollen and seeds actually making the landscape.

River abstracts might also be nice as they are obviously a fairly prominent transporter in the landscape.

I don't know where you're from, but I immidiatly thought the snake pass (A57) which links Manchester with Sheffield.

Theres a couple of positions which would make fantastic shots. If its cold enough there's often a bit of snow too.

Let's see...Tractors, roadworks, earthworms, waterfalls, rivers, skiing, horseback....

Also - try to get up high in town somewhere and shot down onto the street scene.
Should also get some more inspiration from up there !

If 'landscape' can be interpreted as seascape, you could take all kinds of photos of (sailing) boats, (cruise and cargo) ships, ferries, hovercrafts, etc.

Find a quite windy road and get someone to drive up it at dusk with the headlamps disconnected (hence it needs to be a quite road). The result is the tail lights winding up the road thus defining its course in the dark landscape. Please don’t sue me if you crash!

You might also want to try a multi exposure, one with the mode of transport in it (such as a train) the other just the landscape. This results in a wraith like train (car, bike, segway or whatever) in the landscape.
