Asked to do a album cover photo, ideas?

Hi,

A friend of mine is releasing a CD for charity and he has asked me to take some photos to use for the front and back of the album. I will be providing the pics on a disc but I was just wondering is there a specific size the picture has to be?

Any ideas welcomed.

Measure a cd case cover and back and match it up in PS??

However big a CD insert is at 300dpi.

The front cover for a CD is 1x1 ratio, square. Not sureabout the back, but there are programs about, even free ones, that have templates for CD/DVD

Thanks , they decided to do there own photo in the end using a point and click
