Asian Weddings

:tumbleweed:

Well obviously nobody has much experience of this if the number of replies you've had is anything to go by. :D

I will say that there are so many traditions and practices to follow, the ceremony can start a few days in advance of the actual wedding day. My own experience is limited to seeing the number of coaches carrying guests round here, or second hand experience. A friend went to one that was held over three days. The family had laid on everything as big and as expensive as possible and made much of the fact that the Tog for the 3 days cost about £10,000. Still had to wait over 4 months for the album though! :D

So, the fact you are asking makes me think you haven't had much experience of weddings in general. In which case all I can say is good luck, because if the wedding you're photographing is anything like I have described, you're going to need it. In bucketloads

Some feedback...

Well, did the wedding....and what a fantastic day!

It was a grand affair. Held in Tatton Park so the backdrops were fantastic. The grand hall was set up with oodles of colour and the Asian dress added even more. Stunning females made for some fantastic closeups.

Good food, friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere made for a good day all round.

If anyone has the opportunity to do an Asian wedding I would recommend that you jump at the chance.

Wish I saw this post earlier..... One of the forum members here has done one or two Asian weddings and could have given some advice. I'd love to do one.

Just out of interest. Did you not have a meeting with your clients to go through their photographic requirements? This would ensure you turned up kowing exactly what you needed to get,...

I meet up twice with my clents. Once with the to be bride and groom and once with the to be bride alone to discuss the preperations, colours and other stuff the groom cant hear.

King.
