Looks like a good start from England, although I've learnt over the years never to judge until you've seen both teams bat ;)

That aside I don't think you could ask any more of England today on a ground that's been a fortress for the Aussies for many many years. Even the Aussie comentators are saying 400+ is a par score.

Nice bit of poetic justice with Broad getting 5 wickets too.

Think my sleep pattern may get a bit of a hammering for the next couple of months

I was thinking we might win this series 3-1, however the Aussie batting line up looks a little more fragile than I think most people believed it to be.

Yep - a good opening day for England.

A couple of wickets came at key times.

I'm in the "saying nowt till we've had a bat" camp. :)

I think the Aussie press' "Broad Ban" has backfired spectacularly!!

They were even tweeting "Clarke out bowled by England medium pacer" and in other reports referring to him as the "27 year old medium pacer"

Now obviously they're trying to insult him as he's quicker than medium pace but think about it for a moment .......... It doesn't say a lot about the Aussie batsmen if a English medium pacer can take 5-65 in perfect batting conditions

Not entirely surprising.

I just think that in aus conditions they have a better attack than us - especially now MJ has his radar sorted.
