I have been asked by a freind to try and fix a photo of her as a toddler, the black and white picture has started to go yellow in patches for some unknown reason. I suspect it never got fully washed when it was origionaly printed and something like glass cleaner has set it of reacting.

I'm the first to admit I'm useless at photoshoping so I need your help.

Here's what the photo looks like scanned.

This is what it looks like converted back to grayscale

As you can see when scanned in grayscale or converted it leaves a dreadfull mark accross her face.
This is the only copy of the photo and the negs have long since gone as her Dad was in the forces and they moved around a lot.

I'd really appreciate some help on this one so I can reprint it for her :D

Had a quick go but losing a bit of the quality I am sure someone (wayne) will be on shortly to show me up ;)

Sorry mate, I just realised what your earlier post said, not trying to show anybody up, just having a play.

Please feel free to go for it, anyway you want.

I've got hold of a copy of Digital restoration form start to finish and I'm still baffled.

Give me a 1978 Ford Escort 1.3 and I can strip it to the last nut and bolt and put it all back together but photoshoping leaves me cold :D

I need to print the photo about 7x5 so appreciate any help.

I can do the strip it down bit, thats easy.... it's the putting it back together is where it goes pear shaped for me... why are there always bits left over? I mean a few screws yes, but a wheel and an engine...

Wayne thats cool.

Thanks to everyone who's had a play. Tommorow night I'll get everything sorted and print it out. She'll be so chuffed :D

jobe, i think that's an awesome edit. If it was a bit more contrast and sharpened a bit you'd have a winnner...

I love these threads ... even when the OP is satisfied, more suggestions keep getting added
good for learning
