Yes
Well guys, I got a good price on an Arsat 30mm UWA lens in its box and complete with "fall off" metal cap and filters.

Now the only snag it seems is finding a mount converter to take it from Kiev 5b to Mamiya 645. :cuckoo:

I've posted a "wanted" ad in the correct forum, let's see if I can get you talking about it here...:naughty:

...complete with "fall off" metal cap...

 I know what you mean, I've got one of these in my Pentacon Six system.

It must be an Eastern European thing, as the lens cap on my CZJ 50mm Flektogon doesn't stay on either. :)

Isn't the Kiev 5 an RF ??

RF's and SLR's rarely share lenses even with adapters, you'd a been better off with a P6 or something.

Anyway, they're still making Kievs, have a search @ ARAX...:)

I'd a bin better off with a Mamiya fishy but funds, dear boy, funds...

I bin to the Aax website and emailed 'em - no M645 adapters in stock and no plans etc

The 30 was cheap because its Kiev 5 mount ??

I'm thinking an un-holy marriage between a 645 body cap and either a Kiev 5 mount or the lens itself is the quickest way to get these two together..:)

Nope. It was cheaper because it doesn't have Mamiya printed on the side:bonk::thumbs: Maybe the vendor knew about the global shortage of Kiev 5b to Mamiya 645 adapters. Very helpful chap though and a good price for a big heavy lens.

Me too. I've hand-held the lens in front of the body and the lens to body distance appears not to be millimetre critical.

Body cap, araldite/polyester resin/tie wrap/tank tape/jubilee clip/self-amagamating tape and lens. Won't be pretty but it'll work. I thought about doing something with the back cap from the lens but it only goes on a fraction of a turn and has a weak friction grip only.

Contrary to popular belief, there isn't an adapter for everything to everything, that's why I say P6 would have been better because its fabulously well supported.
Looking at the bay, you do pay double for a P6 mount though.
I dunno what a Kiev 5b even is, does it share the mount with anything else like Contax or summink..?

Joxby,, thanks for this. Clearly my "bargain Mamiya 635 fit" is less of a bargain until I can cobble something together!
