anyone running it?

I've set it up for the shop's site and am loving it, but how do I either lose the 'welcome to Arass theme' bit or edit it to be welcome to the barkhouse.....

I think I'm missing something relatively straight forward so am working on it :D

site is here for looking http://www.thebarkhouse.com

also I've gotten this error for 24 hours, I can log in with ftp so am deeply confused :s

I get it trying to install plugins by search or upload (installing by ftp copies them fine but they don't show up). Also when uploading images.

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/thebarkh/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/10.

help?

From what I can see the welcome to arras theme is a widget so have a look in the widgets section and see if there is anything there you can remove. Chances are once you drop you own widget in there it will remove their placeholder widget.

That could be a permissions issue. If you have ftp access you can change the permissions of the folder in question, I think it should be 755 or more likely 777 but google it & you'll find loads related to permissions issues.

Good luck!

epic will google permissions, not sure why it changed mid bloody upload :s

I like that as a plan I'll try dropping a twitter widget in until one works

As David, it looks like a widget. Can you just remove it from your 'appreance > widgets' menu in you wp admin panel. I'd alo think about editting you themes footer.php file to remove the link to the theme

yup, I've had to put a hold on dev (am moving back to prev theme atm) as its run out of web space (my sister bought it and she's a little less than technical :s)

will be fixed and working in 24 hours I hope :D

am back in, editing the footer next have got pictures working (for one post but at least now I know how), the welcome to arras doesn't show up as a widget so will put one in its slot and see what happens

David,

Nothing on your server should need or ask for a permission of 777. If you've set this change it back. Your asking for trouble leaving web folders at 777

I've sorted it - the host was out of space :p

permissions left well alone

What do people think of it as is, I'm waiting on copy because I think the sections need a rewrite, possibly a shake up of how things are listed on there and then some official correspondence on the colours of the header ect

guuuuys I can't get rid of the picture here and am flumoxed

Also the permalinks are all wrong, the page seems to have the url for another page and they're all like it

Are you any good at manual coding?

If so (even ish) download a copy of the relevant '.php' files via ftp, open them in Notepad and search for the link that's embedding the picture, delete it and then upload the file again.

Make sure that you take a copy of the original file first, in case you break it, and need to return the start again.

good shout

hopefully it wont call any other templates, I run AF+ for my personal site and got all screwed up with the header :s

If you are switched on enough (please don't take that as patronising! :) ) run a dummy site on your local PC with XAMPP and download a copy of Netbeans to do your hard coding. It's an excellent tool and one of the best Notepad style editors available on open source.
