Yes
Right, I have a canon 450D with a 360 jessops external flash with TTL

Manual mode it all works fine.

TTL....hit and miss, the other day everything was fine for about 30 test shots.

New batteries in today and TTL will fire, but not register on the image! out of 20 shots I think it registered 1!

what do I do? take it back and get a Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash Unit?

Or I have just missed something obvious?

thanks:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Iv'e got a 360 jessops with my 350d and it ONLY works in manual! Use it mostly for off camera work though.

hmmmm ...... any one know if they will give a refund or let me put the money towards the canon?

Should do. It's E-ttl that you want. The camera will control the flash for you. (it's NOT quite that simple, but you know what I mean!!)

lol yes i get ya :-)

I do shoot manual to but at times I need the TTL, which I was assuming works! but obviously I cant take the risk it working on the day :-(

there goes more money I need.

I am sure if you ask VERY nicely, Santa will pop one down the chimney for you!!

Santa will shout that I lost her erm... him 100 pound and slap my face lol

Take camera and flash back to the shop, get them to check it out. Assuming there's a fault, either exchange for a new one, or get something different. Needn't cost a bean

Cheers hoppy, I've kinda been lookin at the 430 ex though so I'm hoping they will let me change and buy.... It seems better suited for what I need :-)

How long have you had the 360 jessops external flash for????

every business is entitled to give a refund if good are faulty or dont work, however they could give Jessop vouchers to the value which would'nt matter if you have an eye on a Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash Unit.

If you want to try a last test - put the camera in 'P' mode, make sure the lens is set to TTL. Try some shots wherever you are now. If that doesn't work then it sounds like summat is wrong with it.

Thanks, I've tried it in all setting etc and still no joy.... Looks like a lil trip out :-)
