Nobody wants to speak to you anyhow so what's the big deal.:rolleyes:o_O

My work is a not spot...regardless of network.

Mine is a nearly Not Spot unless with Vodafone (which I'm not) Vodaphone have put a mast up at work which has a tendency to block out other signals inside the building. Having said that I can get a signal in some places in the building depending on where I'm sitting in a room.

Jealous.
I'm with Vodafone and here their coverage is the worst. Lol.

Yep. My village is a complete not spot. Very annoying

:p cheeky

Only time i've seen 3G appear on my phone was in Blackpool. I get reception at home and weak data connection, but just about zilch at work. That's on good ol' EE.

That said when in Cornwall last week, the plain old data connection on my mobile was faster than the DSL connection!

Had really good 3G on the 3 network even with 24 inch thick walls. Then they had to move the tower and could barely see 1 bar.

Very weak broadband - barely 1Mbps

Got hold of 3 who sent a free Home Signal Booster and in the same week got Infinity 1 (34 Mbps (moved to Infinity 2 and 74 Mbps 1 month later) So our NOTSPOT was eradicated. If you have a reasonable broadband connection but poor 3G it may be worthwhile contacting your mobile supplier about a Signal Booster, they attach to the router and use broadband to connect to your mobile operator. Can be a bit data hungry so best for unlimited broadband deals.

Very rarely use the house phone as we have unlimited broadband and unlimited calls on mobiles.

Its a real toughie if you are struggling with low speed internet. We had 2 years of really bad speeds but great mobile connection till that went t*ts up

Keep fighting to get your local MP on board. We could have lost our businees when the NOTSPOT hit.

Steve

Is that where the Baroness lives (Herts)?

We have 2 small farms in North Yorkshire, on one of them we have a phone line with poor broadband, on the other we have nothing.
Mobile phone coverage is patchy at best at both locations, the rural areas tend to be very poorly served by the mobile phone companies, even though the chances of needing a mobile phone in an emergency are very much higher on a farm than in a city - and of course it costs us the same amount of money for a very poor service as for a good one. So, when working in the fields, its 2 way radio or nothing.

We live in a rural area, and much the same as you, once out of the village the mobile signal drops rapidly. One of our local farmers has invested in a Satdllite phone. The cost of that to buy and use is quite a big overhead.

The roll out of rural high speed broadband is still very patchy. Was very surprised we got Infinity before Bath did!

Maybe if the OP didn't live near the "golf balls" he would get a better signal.

This was out in the garden away from my wifi router:

And then this was connected to the wifi:

Vodafone and O2 are the only networks available here and offer, at best, a weak and unreliable 2G signal. Nearest 3G is 20 miles away, and I haven't a clue about 4G. I've haven't even seen one of these signals! ADSL hovers around 2 mbps. We've been offered Infinity (up to 30 mbps) but it's too expensive for us, and we don't need higher speeds, so I declined.

None of this is really a problem for us, and I've no interest in using my phone to access the internet. I just object to paying the same rates as people in areas with good coverage/services

Not spots.......I'm in a double not spot, 3 miles from Leeds city centre ffsake, well me and a few thousand other people.

It just goes to prove its all about perception with the BB and mobile phone suppliers, if you make a big song and dance about spending money in rural areas to improve their BB or mobile signal, the natural assumption is that everywhere else with less challenging obstacles to overcome, is pretty much tip top.
They know this and it suits them for it to appear they have all bases covered, when in fact its complete b0ll0x.

yeah, I am bitter and twisted, living with this shoddy expensive pizzle.:grumpy:

There are not spots in the middle of Stoke. Three has no service indoors. Other networks aren't much better.

Three is weird. There are loads of places with zilch and then you'll find full 3G or even 4g now in the arse end of nowhere. Pretty sure I saw a 4g symbol pop up just outside Coalville.

In this day and age mobile coverage is as essential as landline. Between them they should cover just about everywhere.

we still got red phone boxes in north wales :help:

oh and some very sexy ewes to

Parts of Pembrokeshire have pretty much no phone signal at all. 3G is just a dream...

I've never seen an ugly one yet :)

MK here, TBH its getting worse not better,
not quite such a not spot,
as more of a "I may or may not connect depends on how the mood take me"
Its definitely going down hill (T-mobile / EE)
And that includes normal as well as 3G :(

Totally agree, i opted for the 4g option with my new contact which works around the local area fine (Old Windsor) but travel a mile up the road and you struggle to even get 3g.....even though the service provider say its all a 4g area!

Amazes me how much of the UK seems to be a Not-Spot when compared to Crete where pretty much everywhere seems to have coverage. Still amazes me that we can be on a remote beach and Mrs Nod still gets e-mails!
