Yes
It's my birthday today (woohoo) and my other half got me tickets for Man Utd vs Liverpool at Old Trafford.

We will be sitting in the South stand and I was wondering whether I would be allowed my DSLR in with me?

It would be great to get some photos of the occasion to remember it by :)

Thanks

Sammy

Quite probably, its in the terms and conditions for entry to the ground. Point and Shoots shouldn't be allowed either but seem to get in ok.

Its all down to the restrictions on Images and Video from Premier League and Football League games

Just to confirm that you can't.

I've seen stewards at the turnstile taking them and putting them away for collection after the game.

Yeah pretty much. Point and shoot = small= cant take good pictures

DSLR=big=must take good pictures=not allowed (in the eyes of the stewards)

I have been a few times I think it says you are not allowed to take cameras with changeable lens however I have seen many with a DSLR so not sure how they got them in.

Individual clubs will differ. I take my D90 most weeks and have never had a problem.

All clubs at all levels in the UK have exactly the same ground rules... Its up to the club how hard they want to enforce them or indeed how well they train there stewards...

:tumbleweed: :p

Thats why i put *in the eyes of stewards* cue all the stewards :dummy:

Mind you if they made Rovers_Andy dolls i know who would be first in line to buy one :exit:

You'd think that the amount you have to pay for a premiership game these days you would be able to bring in a whole film crew with you!

Nope its hard enough for the accredited photographers to get into grounds never mind the crowd :nono:

And rightly so...otherwise people like Andy would be able to get in ... oh wait. ;)

No, seriously, if it wasn't so strict then half of TP would be on the sidelines every week and it would be a nightmare for those of us that have to be there for work!

Only taken mine with me once and that was the last game of last season. I was corporate and had now problem. There was a good few people around me with them too. One guy with a pretty big zoom lens was approached by a steward but i think it was because he was blocking the steps.

I sit in the stratford end on my season ticket, i never taken in here but seem plenty with SLR's and camcorders.

I don't know enough about the rules about getting cameras into footie grounds, but a couple of years ago we took my son to watch Blackburn Rovers v Middlesborough at Ewood Park. Unknowingly, it now seems, I took my Fuji S9500 in and sitting just three rows from the front snapped away throughout the match without anyone batting an eyelid. I must have been just lucky I guess.

Oh and Rovers got a stuffing. :'(

I am always amazed when workign the touchline at ewood.. i look around and theres dslrs everywhere... obviously dont care....

We had a thread about this a few months ago (specifically relating to Arsenal and The Emirates)...unsurprisingly to some, rumours are abound that they will be more strict on all cameras this season.

The DataCo seem to be realising there are some very good Point and Shoot cameras or bridge cameras out there that could be capable of producing sellable images.

We'll have to wait and see about the Emirates when the season starts, but I suspect that across the board there'll be a tightening up of whats allowed and whats not...

As for picking on Andy, my kit is working fine now since I remembered what AF settings worked for me last season!

I went to White Hart Lane some years ago with one, and was told inside the stadium not to use it, or I would risk getting it taken away. I explained I would like some inside the ground shots before the match started, and was told that was ok. But was reminded that the match / players was the copyright protection of the Club, TV, and Media

I took my DSLR to old trafford when i went to watch Soccer Aid the other month ? So did quite a few others Judging by the amount I saw !

However, that was a charity match so restrictions were probably not as harsh  ?

Bloody hell! Must be a big ground if one end is in Stratford!! :D

I have taken mine - sometimes I have been told to put it away - never had it confiscated. Last few times I have been over I just didn't take it.

Took mine into Hampden Park for County's semi final and Final. I got plenty pics of the semi and was in full sight of the Police and stewards and did get a few odd looks, but I think that's more to do with the Taliban style beard I was sporting at the time.....

….oddly I've seem to have deleted all memory of the final. :(

I seem to remember saying exactly the same thing in the last thread that came up here...but I'll say it again anyway.

Just because you have gotten away with it in the past, or not been stopped/caught/chucked out does not make it OK.

As an analogy, how many people here occasionally exceed the speed limit? Even on the motorway? That's wrong/illegal. Yet we all do it, and don't get caught (most of the time).

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Don't be "that" person.
