Are we mad still wanting to use film ?

Mad? most definitely, I blame the fumes from devloping chemistry.

I want to get out their,and shoot some film :)

Didnt help just brought Magnum contact sheet book.

Although I love slide film, it's the camera that mostly does it for me.

I have a Nikon D3100 dslr which is horrible to use. You spend more time pressing buttons and scrolling through menus than taking pictures. I've taken some very good pictures with it, but it's a real chore and not enjoyable at all.

I prefer to use my Minolta X-300, Minox 35 etc. You can't get the low light shots that you can with the D3100, but I like using them, and I like winding on after each shot. I like how film cameras look and feel to use.

My ideal camera would be a digital version of a manual film slr.

Same :} I love working with both film & digital for different reasons. But I can't get over my love for working with film, theres just something about it.

Agree on that :thumbs: one of the contributing reasons for me giving digital the boot. That and I needed money lol

Surely that's a function of the camera you've chosen? Since I set mine up after buying it, I've been into the menus three times (and one of those was to answer a post here)...

That said, I've dusted down my 18 year old film SLR, acquired a battery for it and am in the process of deciding what to run through it - colour/b&w, slide/print... erring towards b&w print at the moment.

Colour negative tends to be the easiest to find good value for money developing and scanning for, as well as often being the cheapest film to acquire.
 
But film isn't about ease or cheap (IMO) :)

Been there, done that... downrating to 40ASA, etc, etc - getting them back from the processor, demounting and remounting in anti-Newton glass mounts back in the day. As much as I love slides (mono slides in particular) I think it'll be mono print (then do I go for FP4, HP5, Delta (but what speed?), or Neopan or Tri-X... choices! choices!)

Watch me come back on Saturday with a colour slide film :D
