When I've been out an about (whilst being a member on here) to various zoo's & parks & places of interest & see other togs out & about I think to my-self "I wonder if they're a member of TP"...

Does anyone else think that

i do and i have taken pictures of them too but too scared to post in spotted a togger thread...

other photographers i see are generally bemused at me lying on the floor or climbing through undergrowth, or seems very miserable.
It's a shame, everyone looks so sad.

That's nice, I often try to talk to the less fortunate when I see them in the streets too :D

Yeh, but the canon users will at least talk back to you!

Last canon user I said Hi to looked at me as if I'd just called them a whale.

Last Pentax user I spoke to I couldnt get away from! (Maybe he was lonely?)

Probably your Welsh accent! :D

Believe it or not, I've only had 1 conversation with a photographer while out and about in 2.5 years, and it was 2 years ago now on my honeymoon.

Yosemite National Park, there are several water falls and this one had a road going in front of it. I wanted a photo of the wife by it so she was on one side of the road and I was the other but traffic was bad. I was looking through the view finder when someone said "its clear, take it now!" so I did, nice shot.

Turned round and it was another photographer, a huge that looked like a complete hippy. He was taking long exposures of the river just behind me. We had a good natter about stuff for 15 mins, looked at each others shots and wished each other good luck! :) A very pleasant man.

I've been out and about and noticed glances as if they would like to speak but are too scared.

With the summer coming I might get some tshirts made saying "Hi, I don't bite!" :D

I'll try and make a point of talking to deluded canikon fanboys if I see any in the West End/ Byres Rd area then

Just realised I didn't say anything about talking to others for real - I always try and say hello to anyone taking more than snaps....last couple I spoke to were on holiday (he was from NZ she Belfast & they lived in London - don't ask I have no idea how that works) and really appreciated the local knowledge of good places to visit.

It's nice to be nice :)

I'm a newbie with a Canon 1000D. If I see another togger out I bolt for a bush, hide, and hope they didn't see me.

When I'm a big boy and get my 7D I will say hi though :)

Fixed that one for you too Terri!

Bumped into a guy last week who was out taking shots of sea birds. Got talking, and during the conversation, and me having lens envy, I asked if he was a TP member. He wasn't so hopefully he has joined.

Lol, I don't jump into bushes because I'm scared of the togs. It just a case of camera envy :) :)

out me.. what i was trying to say was the TP convention in York showed me that most Togs are nice people.. well all of them (and thier partners/children) so maybe we should just say hi as we walk past a bit like bikers nod.
