Are there no good aviation photos on Getty?

Thats the same plane duplicated too isnt it?

They are both 29(R) Sqn planes, one being the single seater (F2 I would expect as this looks to be an old photo) and the twin seater trainer (T1).

The mainstream press gets the vast majority of the details wrong on most military stories, I can let that go and usually poke fun, but that quality of that photo is aweful. Not helped by resizing it in what looks like MS Paint!
 
Don't blame Getty it's what the Beeb chose
 
I can't even find that one on getty. The sad fact is that some buyers such as the BBC have deal with people like getty, that they will supply X amount of images per year/month for an agreed price. If there are too many pictures to choose from, they will just take the first picture they find, rather than go to a specialist aviation or transport picture library, or keep searching until they find the best picture.

I think you've got it right. I suspect someone did just pick one, didn't bother even getting the right size and just let the html page resize it.
