Hi Everyone:)



Im new to DSLR i had a G9 before so not that new to shutter speeds etc...

Ive left it to late now to get anything before xmas but im going to need a flashgun as my livingroom is not what you call wel lit,For xmas im just going to have to make do with the onboard flash.

I wanting to take some real nice pictures of my daughter at home,Is there going to be any difference if i buy a Yongnuo YN-467 over a Canon 430EX II.

So far ive only seen the Yongnuo YN-467 on ebay which is a bummer as i cant use paypal.
 
It's like anything else in life, you get what you pay for...

If it's a lower-end, budget flashgun you're after then I'd suggest the Jessops 360AFD, it's around the se sort of money as the YongNuo, but you don't need tp have Paypal to buyone and you can return it to a bricks and mortar store if there's a problem.

I have no idea about flash so it will be all learning,What i dont want to do is get one and later on im wanting to get a better one.

Also, there are some LED-based devices on the market, mostly macro-ring flash but much cheaper, more efficient and don't give nasty surprises to your subject.

The Nissin Di 866 mark 2 certainly has more features than the Canon, as well as a higher guide number. I stand to be corrected but I think that the Nissin has the highest guide number of all hot shoe flashes.

I wouldn't bother with these as they don't give anywhere enough light out - even for macro -
 
Just got a couple of Yongnuo 560's at £47ea from Ebay and so far so good. They don't have the nice rear LCD screen with the settings info on them like my 430EXII but they seem to work fine. I'm sure time will tell.
 
Cheers guys im sure im going to have fun with a flash and the nifty fifty yep going to get the nifty atthe same time.
 
not go wrong with a Jessops 360 flash to start with and the nifty 50 is a lovely portrait lens- I know I have one :D the 50mm not the flash, I have several of those

Ive just ordered the nifty fifty 1.8,Im still trying to make up my mind if i should go for a secondhand flash as its just going to be for fun/pleasure or if i should buy i cheaper one like the jessops one. I might think go on go and get the Nissin Di 866.
 
Cheers for that will have a look at that place,If its in good condition i cant see there would be any problems for what i want it for.
 
I have the 580ex2 and the 430ex and their use is much reduced now because I prefer the nissin 866 I also own :D

The nissin has the power and features of the 580 at the price of the 430, but the best thing is the little sub flash, such a neat little touch
 
I had a bunch of compatability problems with my nissin so I sold it and bought a couple of 420s cheap (one on here and one on ebay) - possibly just me but ive had no issues with the 420ex.

Ive also get a jesops 360afd which i got very cheap (£20 iirc) on ebay - it only sees action when i need two off camera flashes
