Yes
I've seen some good reports of them elsewhere, and I've already placed my order.

I joined here after I'd placed the order, and now I've read some bad things :'(

Anyone had any good experiences to put my mind at rest?

The only really bad thing is that you don't have a UK warranty, so anything you buy needs to be returned to France for repair.

I bought an Epson R300 printer from them about 2 years ago and apart from the instructions and software in every language except English (which they soon posted to me) ... it's still going strong. Delivery time was a bit slow but I was happy with them :)

ditto a Canon 40D; I got one in English FOC from Canon....

I suppose that is actually pretty bad ......

It can be, there's a post on Flickr from someone who bought a Nikon D80 from them that went wrong. He sent it back to Pixmania in London, they sent it back to Pixmania in France and they then sent it on to Nikon in Switzerland, where it had originally come from.

It was something like 8 months between sending and receiving the camera back.

Personally, for the sake of a tenner or twenty quid, I'd rather go to Jessops

If I'd known about their sketchy record I would have just spent the extra, but I foolishly just saw the low price and ordered! I actually saved almost £100 on the order I put in though, so I guess that would cover some of the shipping costs in the worst case.

Is there anyway to register my A350 with Sony in the UK and tranfer the warranty?

Thanks

Almost certainly not.
Most manufacturers will not recognise a warranty on a camera body except in the country it was sold, however check with sony they may be an exception.

The thing that really annoys me about Pixmania is that they are part of DSG (Dixons,Currys,PCWorld) so you'd think they'd at least have UK warranties...

Thanks for all your opinions guys.

To be honest the warranty thing isn't too much of a concern for me, I'd got myself a bit worried about the camera just never turning up so in comparison it's not too bad ;)

It's my first SLR and I'm just really excited to get going with it now, so expect a huge number of poorly composed and generally rubbish pictures to be submitted until I get the hang of it.

Well it's definitely been delivered now, so I'll post back when I get to work in the morning and check what they've actually sent me.

All been delivered perfectly with a UK valid warranty.

Really couldn't fault them in the end, so all my worry was for nothing ;)

A couple of years ago i ordered loads of stuff from them, including a new sony compact camera - they were the cheapest and i have to say they were reliable, fast delivery and very friendly. So no problems from me.

I bought a web cam of them through Amazon, took about a week to be delivered, other than that absolutely fine, no other deallings. :)

Aye, you certainly put that Flash chappie's gas at a peep!

I've purchased from them a couple of times and they have been fine, in fact once they sent me three Nikon Coolpix 8400's when i only order one. Very generous!!

Bought a Canon compact from them for my daughter a couple of years ago. It arrived faulty (wouldn't charge). Sent it back, it came back a month later but still had the same fault. Sent it back again, it came back another month later still with the same fault. Never did get it resolved.... I won't be buying from THEM again! :bat:

I've purchased a few cameras and computer bits through them over the years due to their low prices. Never had a problem with any of the kit and the items always arrived on time. Personally, I would recommend.

ive had a few bits from them such as fuji bridge cameras and other accessories and ive never had a problem with them apart from the manual being in french but i just downloaded the manual in PDF job done.

I brought my HP B9180 A3 printer from them last year. It came well packaged. Neighbour took it in for me. A real struggle just to walk a few feet!

I've used pixmania a few times in the past. I don't think I'd use them again only because I don't think they're that cheap anymore.

i agree on them not being all that cheep anymore that may have something to do with the prices of everything over here dropping like mad.
