Are most people here using DSLR's?

For many yeasr since moving away from EOS film cameras I used a Fuji 4900z and later a S5000. Both bridge cameras which weren't bad really. There was nothing wrong with my photography but I was getting frustrated by the image quality, lens more than anything in making decent sized prints. I always found the S5000 a bit sharp compared to the 4900Z though the pixel count was higher. Have since moved on and up the a 40D purely because I felt that the DSLR's had improved in quality and reduced in price to the point where I could actually justify them. I remember several years ago thinking about a D60 but glad I didn't now it has dated badly or rather the technology has got better very quickly. Even a few years ago I was shooting with a Nikon D1X, at the time an excellent camera but now seems to be well down on the megapixels. I don't think I need more than the 10 or so the 40D offers me and am now piecing together sme decent lenses.

At the end of the day though a camera like any piece of equipment is only as good as the person using it. Go out and have fun with whatever you camera you have, if you've got the eye you'll take some great shots whatever. Anyone who thinks buying a top spec DSLR will make them a better photographer needs a slap.
