Are minibuses usually insulated?

I'm thinking of doing a diy camper conversion over the winter to keep myself busy. I've decided a minbus will be the best option for me as they have windows belted seats in the back and usually lined too. I'm hoping they have insulation under the lining. Does anyone know if the usually insulated or not?
 
I didn't want to spend the £15 membership! :)

no it wont have any, if you use rockwall/rolls of fibreglass be sure to pack it
in and down well as over time vibration wil make it drop down leaving cold areas, polystyrene is a better option but more work and more expensive.
 
celotex insulation is good but pricey
If you are going to do it I would say joining sbmcc would be £15 well spent, even if i's only for a year, you get some decent priced s/h stuff on there for sale some times.
 
Yeah its a high top It caught my eye because the seats are not not you usual bright colours and also the rear seats are on runners i plan on keeping to seats in the rear so both these are mega plus points. the reason for going with a relay/boxer/ducato is they are approx 6 foot wide as i can have the double bed width way rather than taking up space length ways. I'm only 5'6" this mrs 5'3".

and don't forget, burns a whole lot better...
I'd never even think about using that stuff in a situation like that.
Just something to think about.
 
Polystyrene sheets are also terrible insulation, Our Narrowboat fleet was exclusively styrene sheet lined, roasting in summer iced up inside in winter.

Spray on insulation is available but I don't know how good it is.
 
My VW T25 is registered as a minibus and is not insulated.
 
Thanks guys. I'm seriously considering a caravan as a donor. I was initially put of as the furniture wouldn't fit my needs but there is still the foam from the seats, cassette toilet, oven, fridge, heating, electrics, insulation etc.... all of which will cost a lot more than a £500-£1000 caravan. You can hopefully see how things work while dismantling ready for reassembly. If i can build a naughties van model for under £5k i think i' could save myself £10k. My not be as pretty but just as much fun!
