Hi,

Wondered if anyone knew the latest rules on DSLR's in hand luggage ?

Travelling to Turkey this week and would rather keep my DSLR with me and not have to put in a suitcase.

Cheers,
Mike.

I think the potential problem is travelling back ......... I think Turkey is listed as one of the effected country on the rule. I might be wrong.

I went to Thailand (and back :D) in April and no one cared about cameras, all they cared about was laptops, tablets and larger mobile phones. Actually the only problem we and specifically I had was on the way back at Abu Dhabi as they were using the smallest trays I'd ever seen and declared my sports bag which I've never had a problem with before to be oversized but luckily for me I just took a jacket out of the end pocket and squashed the now smaller bag into the tray.

I'd check with your airline but I think you'll be ok unless your bag is too big.

What has been said. As far your luggage in the hold goes, my then travel insurance said to me that luggage in the hold was not covered. If you must put something in the hold consider how much it is worth to you.

Reading down that list in the link above, it states that "you can usually take cameras in hand or hold baggage". Even from the "problem" states.
