Tried this today and made a mess. I have very visible smears on the sensor after a single wipe across. I expect my daughter got her mitts on it without me seeing. I have studied all the guides on here and followed various links for cleaning but are there any companies who do quick turnarounds on sensor cleaning? Any advice appreciated. What with this and a failed delivery of a Sigma 10-20mm (Jessops) I need something good to happen. :bang:

I took my camera into a local inependent camera shop and they did it for me on the spot. But I realise as you're in Birmingham, that's not much use to you! But maybe you have a local shop with assistants who know what they're doing ...

May not be much help but Calumet in Manchester have a Sensor Cleaning clinic every friday

You might have a word with the Birmingham branch

Thanks again, never even heard of them before but I will give them a call.

Mine did exactly the same! I think it was gease in the chamber somewhere. I email the visible dust support address and they gave me some hints on what to do, including how to clean the brush. I've not got the email here, but can post the contents up later if needed.

For £30 you can buy a sensor wand cleaning kit and DIY! And you can use that kit for many cleaning sessions. Don't be scared, practice makes perfect. Just always read and follow the instructions and make sure you have a fully recharged battery.

I did just that today.Surrey Cameras kit with 10 swabs and Eclipse kit for £26. Now I know the filter was not damaged I will attempt it myself next time with the help of Robert's tutorial on this forum.
