Could anyone recommend an Arca Swiss style plate that I could fit on a Manfrotto xPro ball head please. I’m a little new to Manfrotto tripods (apart from years ago and prior to using L brackets). Any favourites? Any to avoid? Many thanks.

I bought this one for my 488RC2 last week, so can't promise it'll fit on an xPro. I'm happy with the quality and finish of it. Even came with a small hex key.

Despite trevors worry about Chinese metal I doubt that you will find any difference between cheap and expensive ones . 95% of camera bits and bobs are made in China these days ,and just marketed differently

Though one surmise is that the 'brands' (Wimberley. RRS, Sirui et al) have a reputation to protect whereas some others who possibly work to lower standards of materials and/or manufacture may not see reputation as important???

I've seen the difference - time and again. Chinese monkey metal fractures and breaks alarmingly regularly.

Most of the major Photographic makers use Chinese components or for the entire manufacture. including Fuji.
Most of the Nodal NinJa products previously made in Hong Kong are now cnc machined from the solid in mainland China. They are the best of the Pano bracket Manufacturers, and are used By Leica to team up with their Geosystems. Certainly not monkey metal and nothing like cheap.
I think your Prejudice is showing.

If you buy cheap diecast components from anywhere they are often made of Zink alloy. which is totally unsuitable for Photographic Use.
Unfortunately strap makers, everywhere, often use it for their fittings. It is cheap and woeful., and totally unsuitable. Price is usually a good warning but not always.

Ye gods how are you treating your sensitive camera equipment to fracture a metal plate .. I have used cheap Chinese arca plates for around 10 years when I was on full frame bodies and big lenses , carried tripods ,gimbals ,camera and lens over the shoulder on walkabouts and the most it’s done is lose some paint

no probs with chinese arca swiss plates and adapters - have quite a few.

On the other hand I have a copy of the manfrotto 323 rc2 qr adapter. Knocked over a tripod and the plate and camera released.
The safety was engaged and the clamp was on fully ( I always check )

Fortunately I had wound the strap round the tripod so it broke the fall ( no damage ). It was an old nikon v1 anyway - built like a (small ) tank.

FYI the adapter was:
