I thought that was pretty good :)

I think it's harder than ever now to catch anyone out, as people have become so untrusting in general. I mean, imagine if the war or the pandemic were only announced yesterday? Most would be like 'pfft, try again"

I think people have long since lost any faith in hovverboards, I mean BTTF3 let us down so hard, anyone my age or above waited decades for it to become reality :D until I see someone in the flesh gliding along on one I'll never be convinced

There was a (possibly true) story on Reddit about a guy who went to work, got shouted out by his boss and told to pack up his stuff because he was fired. He cleared his desk, deleted his contact book and went home.

2 hours later his boss called asking where he was. "uh, you fired me...?" April Fool!!

Reddit was not kind to his boss.

When I was working, I tested the fire alarm every Friday morning at 10:00am. We had many members of staff who, because of the role that had, were not in the office every Friday morning.

So I arranged a Saturday test day for some people, so that they would recognise the sound of the alarm, if it were a real event.
So, Saturday the 1st April 2017. I 'invited' particular members of staff who I reckoned would not be very happy about coming into the office on a weekend, just to hear the fire alarm!

I sent out a blanket @mail and then I hid!

A few recognised the @mail as a prank, the date is an obvious giveaway.

But four of them were not amused. 1 in particular, Kevin, came to see me and he was fuming  He had his fists clenched tightly by his side, and tried to keep cool as he told that he had to go shopping on Saturday, with his wife, the dog wasn't well, the kids would need a babysitter.

I said to him "Kev, have you checked the date?" "Do you want me to pick another date?"

He couldn't see the connection. It was a guy who sat near to me that rescued the situation by explaining to Kevin the event was on April fools day!

At the school where I was a Governor the Head Teacher had a notice pinned to the school notice boards on 31st March saying there was a crane coming to school the next day to be used for bungie jumping, cost £5 a head, all money to be donated to charity & he as Head Teacher was going to be the first in the queue.

Next day the crane arrived (it was booked for building work anyway) and there was a near riot when the kids saw it.........

I think people have become so used to April Fool jokes that they're looking out for them on the 1st.
