Is downloading (rather than watching online) a breach of copyright?
 
Yes well recording your LPs onto tape to play on your walkman a thousand years ago was 'technically' illegal. If you're doing it for personal use then nobody except Neil is going to care a damn.
 
And maybe the Mods.
I'm sure there are fora with a more tolerant view of such behaviour, but the rules here are a bit tighter.

That is once again illegal, even for personal use.

It was legal for a long time to make a copy of a record, cassette or CD for personal use and became illegal again in 2015.
