Apprentice Time Again

Two or three days ago I was driving near Dunmow in Essex and going the other way was a big black roller, reg AMS 1 followed by another with Reg GFT 5. Looked like a funeral procession.

I think the candidate who has been a 'signature wedding photographer' is going to be interesting to watch crash and burn :)

Which one was that?

The one who lists lifestyle photography and stand up comedy as her hobbies. She's failed miserably doing both as a business

Didn't see anything like that maybe it doesn't show on they iPad

I might record it and give it a go. It hasn't been doing it for me for the last few series.

Jaz Ampaw Farr - from what I remember her way of running a business was to run round shouting "You're gorgeous" and start Facebook groups

Laughing at the annoying dregs seems to pass for entertainment nowadays. If they were quietly normal and slightly competent it'd make bad tv

This is true I guess, it's such a shame as for me this is exactly what make bad TV for me :suspect:

Alex looks like Frank Sidebottom. Looking forward to this show, one of the best things on BBC.

This is another 'show' that has outlasted its realistic lifespan for me (Big Brother being the prime example).

An interesting and novel format when it first started and (perhaps to a lesser extent than BB) an interesting social experiment, but now just a vehicle for wannabe 'celebs' to get their face on the box :shake:

Alex Mills - has he suffered from a large burn at some point? his face looks like he's had a lot of plastic surgery

Yep. First two series great, then total bloody dross.

What's the point in a game show (come on, it is) where the first prize is a prize you wouldn't want your mother in law to endure?

Couldnt have put it better myself!

Very disappointed after the first two episodes - but not surprised!

The "contestants" seem to be caricatures of stereotypes.....

If they are some of the top business people in the land - god help us...

Same old nonsense. Lets get our excuses ready and blame PM before we've even lost the task. Think they should shake it up a bit and stop sacking the PM, it's far too obvious. I had my head in my hands when the one that went yesterday interrupted the Lord to say he's taken onboard his comments - CRINGE!

The PHD student is an absolute idiot!!! Must be sacked soon!

Yes - some folk might say suffering from delusions of adequacy. Who could possibly think it was OK to try to sell a new beer and not take along a sample for tasting.:cuckoo:

I got sent the nail file that was invented by last years winner to review. Absolutely useless!

I don't think anyone has believed this show consists of some of "the top business people in the land" for some years. I think this series might be one of the funnier ones for a while though.

This

It's purely for entertainment as far as I'm concerned, don't think for one minutes that these candidates made it through the auditions because of their businkess skills.

The first series was good - a few credible candidates there but recently the show has changed tact and has gone for pure entertainment.... Well that's my conclusion after watching this current series bunch of jokers.

A friend's comment yesterday:

The thing about The Apprentice is you know it really doesn't matter what any of them say in the Boardroom. Whatever words of business wisdom they thought they were about to impart usually just blurts out as ..."Lord Sugar, I just want to draw your attention to the fact that I'm a c**t".

Steve.

It's long been the case that the most outlandish, obnoxious and egotistical applicants are the ones selected. I don't see it as any different to Big Brother in another guise. Force a load of polar opposites to work together. Light fuse, sit back and watch things go bang.

I haven't watched for many series, but I assume the contestants this time around are no different!

I have watched the 1st two episodes, not watched any other series and I must admit I feel the 'contestants' can only have been picked for entertainment value along with a couple of glam pots to keep the blokes watching.

Not sure if I want to watch any more...I reckon I could miss through to the last couple of episodes and not feel like I would have missed anything.

as expected cringeworthy ...

no idea what the posh Post grag was up to when sold a barrell for £80+. "we'll do it for £75"

What a male chicken!

Its been driving me crazy who luisa looks like for three weeks then I finally twigged last night

If you were only thinking of watching it for her, just look for her photos on the web; they're more revealing and less irritating ;)

I've been watching but the "constructed reality" show format is now wearing very thin for me. Everything is so neat, formulaic and two-dimensional, bring back "real reality" TV!

Looks like she has moved onto Phonics now but her website title is still for photography!

No. Ditch 'reality TV' totally and go back to having shows with people who actually had some talent to entertain.

Steve.

I like those shows too (unless you mean Little & Large et al :D) but I'd enjoy The Apprentice much more if I knew it was "real". Also, I find that some "moments" that occur in real-reality shows can actually be more entertaining than anything pre-scripted due to the naturally complex, unpredictable and unscripted nature of real people and real situations.

At the moment, "constructed reality" shows seem a bit like watching a sport that I know isn't a real competition, whilst still cheering the goals.

I think i'm going to apply for this.
How did this Jordan fella get so far without a business to be invested in? Do the BBC not check anything ... or was it a plant?

Rubik's cube moment was the highlight for me! I was actually thinking as the interviewer brought it up 'I hope he has a Rubik's cube in his office!' AND HE DID!!! TV GOLD!!!
