Anyone aware of a link for a video on how to apply a grad filter in Elements.
I have been going through many online Photoshop videos and can't find what I am looking for, as there appears to be thousands.
Alternatively an idiots guide would do:help:

Can you apply a grad filter in elements seven? I have looked everywere but can`t find it .

Don't ask me how right now, as I've had a couple of Gold Labels, but I'm sure you can by using a new clear layer on top of the original piccy, then select the gradient tool. Apply a black to white gradient and using one of the blending modes, should create an ND effect.

Sure I've done this in the past, but so long ago I can't remember exactly how.
On another note I haven't used Elements for ages, but am guessing you can use layers these days?? I say this, because if I remember correctly, earlier versions didn't have that facility.

One more beer than I'm off to bed!;)

One more thing! The way I do it these days is by cheating! Nik Colour Effects 3 plug-in!

Possibly the most easiest and effective way to do this in Elements is to use a levels adjustment layer to get the sky how you want it by adjusting the levels (ignore how the rest of the image looks for now).

Then use the gradiant tool set to black and white on the adjustment layer to remove it from the parts you do not want it applied to, a bit like moving a graduated filter on a camera lens to get the transition where you want it.

Hope this helps.

A quick example.
