Hi,

I often apply my clone stamp adjustments as a new layer (non distructive) but then if I go back into camera raw or make an exposure adjustment I always have to redo the clone stamp as it no longer matches the base exposure.

I am wondering if anyone has any tips to get round this?

I am not sure that's possible. The raw file you work on in Camera Raw is a different file to the one you work on in PS, or at least I always thought it was but Im not a camera raw user.

I do work with the files as smart objects so I can go directly back into camera raw. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Why not use an levels/curves adjustment layerinstead of going back into camera raw?

Possible, there are many ways to do the same adjustments. With the above method I could do it by selecting both layers and applying the adjustment to both.

However,I like the control Camera raw gives me over many aspects in one place, and the fact it saves all changes so theoretically you could go right back to the unedited raw

I suppose the simple answer is make sure you're happy with your exposure before you leave camera RAW.

Long answer might be to turn off all your layers except the cloned one, save as a TIFF or JPEG, open that image in ACR as raw, apply the same exposure corrections as you made in the original, then open, select all and cut and paste back into the original document as a layer then delete the unadjusted clone layer. Bit of a palaver mind

Another option is to make a merged layer at the top (ctrl+shift+alt+e) and then reopen that in acr, you have all the layers below merged together but they are still there to re-edit later if you choose.
