Silly question. Does anyone know how to access a time capsule over the internet? Running mavericks on MacBook at moment. For the life if me it has got me beat. Icloud back to mac is set up. The time capsule has Apple ID in etc.

Go to System Preferences -> iCloud and enable Back to My Mac (you may have to enable sharing on your MacBook too).

Thanks.

I have done this and it works fine when at home, shows up on side under shared.... when i look at back to mac, it has the green mark, and everything is fine. the problem is when im away from home.. its then that i dont see the time capsule. or able to locate / browse to it..

When I enable the Back to My Mac on my MacBook Pro I can see my home network from outside.
What Modem/Router are you using?

Edit: Clarity!

Im using the bog standard sky router at the moment at home.... just looking at the moment at work.. under the back to mac i have the following error...
" Back to my mac may be slow.. NAT port Mapping (NAT-PMP) or (UPnP) is turned off"

I would check that NAT and UPnP are turned on on both your works router and your home one. Sorry I have no experience with the Sky Router!
