Does anyone know when the apple student discount free iPod with a mac come into play again?
Also is the iPhone inculeded with this deal? Was thinking of getting a lovely 27" iMac with the deal

The deal comes in when they feel like it. It may or may not happen in any particular year and the iPhone hasn't been included. Usually mid august - mid sept in UK approx. Discount is higher for university students eg 20% off macbook pro so if starting uni it is worth waiting till you get there.

If you're at uni the discount is 14% as I recently got for my IMac i7 & 13"MBP. Best part is the 3 yrs support is only £40

The discount changes depending on the university and the model you are getting. The pro models get a higher discount, the mini and iMac the lowest which suggests they make less profit from those! Just had a quote for a 15" unibody macbook pro from Apple with 20% off.

Are you getting the refurb shop and the education shop confused? Apple send theirs through the refurb shop, PC world, tend to keep them in store and if you're lucky reduce the price.

I used to be a mac reseller - FYI student discount is better than the reseller discount so everyone should avail themselves of it - check the conditions and you'll find that almost everyone is eligible
