So p*ssed off today!

Connect my ipod touch to my mac same as i have done since i bought it.
itunes mentions new software, i click update!

MISTAKE

Failed part way through and now my touch won't do anything.

Contacted apple they said 'yes that happens sometimes' i need to send it back and we'll fix or replace!

Feel like i've lost a finger! :bang:

You had me worried then.

Quick search and no it's not been broken out of jail ;)

All as apple intended, so annoyed that an Apple update broke it though!

I would be too, cannot imagine my touch not being to hand grrr

This is one of the reasons I am really picky about updates. To me they just seem to cause more problems than they solve...

If it'sthe same as theiphone you can force a hardware reset...

Plug the touch into your comp. Hold the power and home buttons until the touch resets, once it's turned off release your finger off the power button, BUT KEEP THE HOME BUTTON HELD DOWN

after 10 seconds it will say plug your touch into iTunes and then you can restore from there...

As I said up top those instructions were for the iphone but would imagine them to be the same, saved my bacon when my old iphone crashed after an update, I guess it's worth a try if it's already dead!

They are indeed very similar, they use the same OS.

I'll remember that if mine ever goes belly up - thanks.

Already tried something similar to this.

The restore doesn't work on itunes :(

It's not itunes it's for the touch, is itunes working or isthat fubar'd as well ?

If itunes is not working, re-install that and then try the above method :)

iTunes is fine, it just won't recognise the touch.

The usb lead pointing to the itunes symbol is permanently on my touch screen.

Once connected it says it can't recognise and needs to restore. It goes through 90% of the process then errors.

Fubar'd!

Apple have said they will fix or replace FOC but it's still annoying that their update fubar'd it in the first place!

It happens sometimes, nothing's perfect.
