Apple Pay Launched Today

I've just completed my first tube journey using Apple Pay :) bye bye oyster.

According to tfl website you do. Good point and I may have made a mistake in my enthusiasm to try it out. I probably should have completed my day on the Oyster card. Damn didn't think of that.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up on iphone, using the same default card I use for Apple store, after a verification text from my bank it was good to go. I used it to purchase in Waitrose & Boots on Tuesday, although neither sales assistant in each store were aware that Apple Pay had started, it worked a charm in each shop, only frustration is the £20 cap, although will be increased to £30 in September I understand.

I read last night that from the end of the year the only cap is the amount available to spend on your card.

I've been using it with my Apple Watch. Seems pretty good except I don't get a list of recent transactions (on either the Watch or iPhone 5s).

I get the statement in my passbook the following day with the full amount from the tube.

It does seem be a fair bit slower than the Oyster card to register and activate on the readers.
