Anyone own a Apple 24 inch LED Cinema Display?

I would like to know peoples opinions on them? I have been looking at reviews on the net and some say the gloss screen is awful for PS work.

I have seen them in the apple stores and they look superb. I have a sony vaio with a gloss screen. Its fantastic for looking at photographs on. We also have an Imac, this too gets a lot of critism for the same thing. On a PC we have a very good Mirai 22inch monitor and when you have spent time on either the Imac or the Sony and then go the Mirai, which was over £200 the Mirai looks fuzzy.

Now in answer to your question this is the way I see it. The only reason I can see that the Apple would be awful is if the prints you get from it bear no resemblance to what you see on the screen or if you are opposite a window and get lots of reflections on it. We have found no problem with either the Imac or the Sony.

It will eb interesting to hear what Apple 24 inch LED Cinema Display have to say

if you ask in the store, they can oder it in matte for you

I dont know about the 24" display, but I have the 30" display - resolution 1920 x 1600 @ 60Hz - and it is wonderful for PS work.

I have a 24" Imac with a glossy display and I am from a design background myself and I find no problems with the screen for PS work, IF anything it is much better than a ugly matte LCD Screen.

Are you sure about that I thought the new LED display was gloss only.

They only do a 24inch LED screen so you must be talking about the older HD LCD displays.

Right I went and had a look at one and the reflections arn't as bad as some people make out. I have one more concern now, the colours are very vibrant, maybe too vibrant. I guess calibration would correct this?

I think this may have all been a big waste of time, I am now reading that this new display won't work with my White MacBook.

Nope, it is only for the new style metal ones with the posh new display connector!

I've used one for video editing and motion graphics and they're the dogs reproductives.

Well I have not gone down the LED route but instead I have ordered a new 24 inch 2.93GHz iMac.
