I Dooooo!

I love it too.

Only 3 ways they could make it even better IMO:
1) Make the keys not white - they get grubby and dirty quick!
2) Backlight the keys for awesomeness
3) Make it ergonomicly (sp?) shaped.

Did you get a magic mouse to go with it?

Agree with 1/2 - ergo keyboards are for pc users, and people who type long documents (pc) people :D

- "Whispers" Hope you have a mac...

I did not get the magic mouse, as my Microsft Sidewinder is mouse of choice for me, and top end PC mouses for me, have allway's been better ?

Did you get the wired keyboard or wireless ?

Have both

If you get chance to try the magic mouse then do - they wont replace all he functionality but they are oh-so-good for browsing and zooming in PS.

And I doooooo have a mac :)

Nope, the previous white keyboard is the best keyboard I have ever used and I have been getting them as I see them to stash away for when they wear out :)

I did get one of the new style ones but sold it on here.

aren't the wireless ones backlit?

hehehe my new dell has a backlit kboard well looking forward to it

They could put the @ key in the same place as every other UK keyboard :( and have made the # easier to find for newbies.

The magic mouse wont replace all the functionality

Then get yourself MagicPrefs it will add more functions than you can ever need, want be able to use or remember.

Personally I prefer my Microsoft IntelliMouse, it's just more comfortable in the hand.

thats the greatest thing ever, why didn't apple include that in the magic mouse preferences?

the magic mouse is pretty cool, but maaaan I don't know how people can stand using the mighty mouse, SO uncomfortable and hard to use compared to any other mouse ever....

Most annoying thing is no # key. (OK I know alt+3 does it). . I also tend to agree the older ones did feel nicer to use. But I can live with this one.

i'd say the exact opposite actually. very comfortable

No.

Can't see the point of it being backlit either! My Mac sits on a desk, plugged into the mains and I've got a couple of lights in the room I can use to let me see the keys, as well as a really big window ;)

Macbooks, fair enough, could be used anywhere, but if you're using a desktop and can't see the keys, turn a light on!!

Being able to touch type helps too ;)

Oh, and I use Mouse Wizard with my Magic Mouse, only got it so I could get a Spaces gesture since they took away the "squeeze" option.

I actually prefer the non backlit keyboards. My MBP has a backlit keyboard and at the angle I use it I cannot read the keys in certain light. I touch type so this isn't a major issue most of the time but sometimes you just need to see what you are doing.

Love the keyboards. not such a fan of the mouse, they never used to have 1 button, so they have not perfected 2 button mouses :D

they have 3 buttons in most cases actually, its just that there isnt a physical dived between the buttons, this helps with cleaning there is no crevice to get filled with finger scum!

Agree about mighty mouse is great. Just taking a while as I hold it differently to a nomal mouse, but in doing so feels like an extension of my hand.

Has anyone got a wiresless keyboard? How are they to use compared with the normal one? I am not a fan of wires, so that could be great if they perform. Then of course I have to get round explaining to the wife why i "have" to get the intuos bluetooth tablet to make things even sexier:lol:

I am typing this on the older white wireless keyboard but did have the new style wireless one. They eat batteries but that is not too much of a problem until they run out and you can't log in. Also you need a wired keyboard in the house somewhere just in case you need to press a button whilst booting in order to boot a DVD or reset NVRAM (but a £3 USB PC keyboard would do!).

The wireless ones are basically just the same as the wired ones but with no wire and no USB ports.

When you say eat batteries Darren, how long on average does a new set last?

About 2 days if someone leaves a book resting on it :bang:

Usually goes through a set every 6-8 weeks but they do get a hammering

Oh and they don't like normal rechargables, Eneloops or Alks only..... £1.50 for 10 AA from Ikea. I pick up about 4 boxes each time I go just for the 3 keyboard/mouse sets around the house.

Cheers. Ikea batteries are in pretty much all my remotes and anything that needs a general battery. 6 weeks is fine for me. Seems like one more thing to add to my want list, lol.

Just make sure that you either turn it off or place it where it will be safe from items being put on top of it :)

Batteries are around 6-8 weeks here to, around 4 weeks if I use rechargeable

the magic mouse also is one of (if not thee) best mouse I have used

I would have paid £10 extra for the keyboard to have a built in l-ion battery and a mini usb port so you could plug it in and charge it up/use it wired then disconnect it like a Sony PS3 controller can. THAT would be ideal.

 My year old s/h mac came with a keyboard that looks like that back in October and yes I do rather like it, but am I missing something, is that an even newer version?

Another vote for a proper # key here too, can't think why they don't have one.

They do, you just do [ALT] + [3] :)

You could always write it on the key with a big marker pen :bonk:

The keyboards are the same since last October.

We had those larger Apple keyboards at college, the ones that came with the eMacs, they were terrible to type on >.<

This is the keyboard I use, the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000

It has an awesome wrist rest, and is really comfortable to type on :) It gets a while to get used to but once you're past that it's great ^^

Do you mean the aluminium ones?

It's all personal taste, I hate ergonomic keyboards

Nope, i mean these ones.

My hands ache just looking at it :'(

 these keyboards, perfect for typing

Thats the point, the keyboard you like I hate and vice versa :D

Well if anyone is upgrading I want another white keyboard :D

I think you might be the only person in the world who likes that above keyboard cowasaki. It's horrible, even the design is horrible, let alone using it, reminds me of one of them PC Line crappy keyboards just in white. Every now and then Apple make a total muck up, this keyboard was one of them,

also was that crappy round mouse with the first iMacs and more recently was the new ipod shuffles where there was no controls on the ipod, just in the earphones forcing you to have to use the earphones that came with the ipod or buy an adapter

the new aluminium one is much better in my opinion.

I have 2 usb and a wireless version of the chunky keyboards Cowasaki. You can have a usb version if you cover postage. 'tis a bit grubby but in good working order. Alternatively I will keep hold of it for you if you are planning a trip to London soon enough

I'm glad you agree with me, I distinctly remember my hands hurting after having used that keyboard xD

i like the white keyboard pictured above

i got a USB & a wireless one here with me.
i was tempted to get a silver one to go with the G5's casing but i find the white ones perfectly usable :)
