Apple iPhoto Photobooks - any good?

Playing around with iPhoto 09 I had a play with their photobook option - ended up with a 38 pager for £38ish including UPS delivery (thanks Royal Mail).

The software for developing a Photobook is simple and intuitive and easy to add maps and other bits that I have not seen in any other provider.

I guess the question would have been better before I put in my credit card, but now interested in anyone elses experience with them. I will find out in 3-5 business days!

Yes!

I got one for the in laws last year, a 40 page book with pics of the kids. It was fantastic, REALLY good and well worth the £40 odd. They ship from Holland so take around 10 days.
 
...according to the UPS tracking number, it took 1 day to print and is on its way from Prague, via Essen and Bruge and is up for delivery tomorrow. 4 days from finalisation to delivery (if indeed it gets delivered tomorrow).

So far I am pretty impressed - hopefully the quality will be what I think it will be....will report back!

I have ordered a few, not so keen on ones with jackets, one with just binding was great. Good quality and delivery overall.

Hmmm, mine was printed within a week and shipped the next day, everything done in Holland though.
 
Wow, my book has arrived as promised. I think it is fantastic - I have had photobooks from Photobox, Truprint, Bonusprint, Jessops and Blurb and this is the best by a long shot. I am a fairly recent convert to Apple and do have a habit of flying the Mac flag much to the distaste of those PCphiles at work, so I am trying to factor that in to this review.

Delivery. From upload of book to delivery was 4 days - UPS standard delivered today.

The flysheet is printed, but so is the hard cover of the book. Nice quality book that comes with a cover.

The print quality is great - but the fact that I have gone to a bridge camera is starting to notice as on the larger pictures as there is a tendency for blur at the edges - as on my iMac screen. I now have the desire to move back to a DSLR.

It WAS more expensive than most of the other books I have had done at £39 inc delivery - but I think worth every penny. Fast delivery and quality

I ordered one earlier this year from Snapfish and was really disappointed. It was effectively photo paper bound in a hard cover (and thus subject to fingerprints etc). I was expecting something more like a book, with 'book like' paper.

How does the Apple one compare? Is it 'book like' or photo paper bound in a book?

This one is bound as a book and printed rather than the Jessops inkjet like effort that is squeezed together.
